Biography

 

Professor Richard Bunch - 9th Dan - Hanshi and is President of Ju Jitsu America. Prof. Bunch’s reputation as a skillful martial artist and scholar makes him a highly sought after instructor both nationally and internationally. Prof. Bunch is a Black Belt “Hall of Famer” has produced a large number of National champions, and is recognized worldwide. Over the years he was fortunate to have studied with numerous martial arts masters and many elders of the Kodenkan Danzan Ryu system. This experience and technical knowledge has provided him with a broad perspective of different interpretations of the arts. His martial arts career with Ju Jitsu began in 1960 in San Jose, Ca. at Pacific Judo/Ju Jitsu club under Prof. Sig Kufferath, Bill Montero, and Sam Brown (Kenpo). Simultaneously he had the great fortune to also train with Professors Ray Law and Glenn Castileo, as well as with Ju Jitsu great Prof. Wally Jay. Prof. Bunch was Prof. Kufferath's Chief Instructor, and Associate Instructor since 1970. He is head sensei at the Nikko Ju Jitsu School based in San Jose, Ca.
