Biography

O’lohe Charles “Sonny” Kaulukukui has trained for more than 50 years in many martial disciplines including Shotokan Karate, Goju Ryu Karate Yudansha (Okinawa), Wado Ryu Karate (Hawaii), Danzan Ryu Jujitsu Yudansha, Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu Nidan Instructor (Hawaii), Jun Fan Gung Fu, Kali/Silat, and Hawaiian Lua (Hawaii).  He has also conducted extensive research regarding the subject of Hawaiian plants and herbs used for sustenance and medicinal value especially those used by the early Hawaiian warriors.  O’lohe Kaulukukui also has appeared in many television shows including the program “Conquest of Hawaii” on the History Channel and Hawaii 50.

Some of the concepts O’lohe Kaulukukui will introduce at Ohana include O’o ihe (Hawaiian spear throwing battle tactics) & Whakatuwaewae (Maori weapons footwork exercises).
